I was born and raised in the Chicago suburb of Woodridge, Illinois. I moved to Dallas after receiving my Call to Zion. I currently live in Forney with my husband, Chad; our daughter; and pets. In my free time, I love reading, listening to podcasts, exploring Texas with family and friends, and watching documentaries. Chad and I enjoy going to college football and professional hockey games on occasion.
I graduated from Concordia University - Chicago in May of 2012. receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Social Science and a Middle School Endorsement. Since 2012, I have taught 6th-8th grade Social Studies and Religion and 7th grade Drama. I have also taught 6th grade Drama in the past. I am a member of the Texas State Historical Association.
Currently, I co-coach the Zion Scholar Bowl team. In previous years, I coached Zion’s cheerleaders. I routinely volunteer by packing meals at Feed My Starving Children and teaching Sunday School at Zion. During the summer, I work with middle and high school students through the Lone Star Leadership Academy.
I believe that students learn best through active learning, group cooperation, critical analysis, peer discussion and debate, and real-life applications. My job is not just to teach information, but to help students develop social skills, character, and a positive sense of self in their world. Most importantly, it is my responsibility to teach every child that they are a beloved child of God and a treasured member of our school.
You will never look into the eyes of someone God does not love.
