I grew up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. My husband, Tyler, and I met in college and were married in 2020 while living in Greenville, SC. Since then, we have lived in Inverness, FL and Dallas, TX. In 2023, we moved to Dallas for Tyler to attend Dallas Theological Seminary and began attending Holy Cross Lutheran in Northwest Dallas. We have a very excitable Beagle-Husky dog, named Ziva. I enjoy baking, cooking, reading, and hiking in my free time. I am a people person and love to learn about new people and cultures. My husband and I tend to keep a rather busy schedule between work, church, and school, but we love getting out of the city when possible.
Since 2018 I have been teaching students ranging in age from kindergarten to high school. I have a Bachelor of Arts from The Academy of Arts Conservatory and am currently working on my Master of Education in Teaching and Learning with an emphasis in administration from Maranatha University. I have an ACSI teaching certification, and I am always eager to learn more and further my education!
Ministry is a priority in my life, whether that be to my husband, family, church, or community. I thoroughly enjoy volunteering wherever is needed in my church and being part of the various Bible classes available. I volunteer and partner with Compassion International Ministries, which is a ministry that provides necessities and Biblical teaching to children in a variety of countries. Since moving to Dallas, I have become involved in the Thrive women’s ministry at Dallas Theological Seminary, where I will be a member of their leadership team this year.
I believe it is an honor and blessing to be a teacher and to serve the Lord and my students in this way. God has commanded us as Christians to do all we do as unto Him, and this is the driving force behind my classroom. My student's spiritual well-being and relationship with the Lord is the priority. I strive to teach and disciple with excellence in a way that points my students to the Lord and His Truth. My classroom is a place where students grow and learn to reach their fullest potential. Mistakes are welcomed and viewed as a means of learning. I want my students to not only learn academics but more about the Lord and how much He loves them.
