My husband, Aaron, and I have lived in Dallas since we graduated from college. We have three children. I enjoy reading, baking, and being outdoors.
I have taught at Zion since I graduated college in 2001. I taught Kindergarten for the first 9 years, 3rd grade for the next 13 years, and then I decided to try something different, and I now teach 4thgrade. I have a Bachelors of Science in Education from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. I also took a few business classes upon graduation at a local college to obtain my Early Childhood Director Certification. I am a member of the Technology Educators Association.
Away from the classroom I coach soccer for the Zion 5th and 6th grade team and serve as the Head of the Elementary Department. I also teach Sunday School, serve on various committees, and teach Vacation Bible School. At Dallas Lutheran School I serve as a class mom, a capital campaign member, and as a Parent-Teacher Fellowship Board member.
As an educator my goal is to create a love of learning in the classroom. I plan projects that I hope will create meaningful educational experiences and be enjoyable for my students. The priorities in my classroom are that students reach their full potential and that they learn to push themselves. I hope that they remember me as a teacher who loves them, sets high standards for them, and does whatever she can to help them reach those goals.
