I was born in Borger, Texas. I moved to Carrollton in 1969 and have lived in the Dallas area ever since. In 1983 I met my wife, a life-long Lutheran, married her in 1986 and joined Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. I earned my BA degree in Business Administration from the University of North Texas in 1985. I worked in the business world for five years before starting my own business and going back to school to be a teacher. In 1992, I earned my teaching certification with a major in math and a gifted and talented endorsement. I accepted an offer to join the faculty at Prince of Peace as a 2nd grade teacher. I remained in that position until 1995 when I was asked to help start the middle school at Prince of Peace. From 1995 to 2008 I served as a middle school math/Bible/history teacher. I obtained my Master’s Degree in Education from the University of North Texas in 2002.
I accepted the opportunity to serve as interim Principal of Zion Lutheran School in July, 2008. I was named principal in November of 2008. I enjoy the opportunity to interact with all students at Zion. I desire to partner with and to serve the children, families, teachers and staff of Zion Lutheran Church and School. I have been a Zion member since November 2008. I pursued my Colloquy education in September of 2008 to better equip myself as a life-long learner. I completed my Colloquy in September of 2009. I am currently working on my doctorate in educational leadership.
I am an active member of the National Elementary School Principal Association, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Texas Association of School Administrators, Texas Private Schools Association, the Lutheran Education Association, and the Texas Association of Non-Public Schools.
